A selection of the food collected
All it took was an announcement from the Human Resources Department at Remington Administrative Services, Inc. (RASI) and the assignment of employees into five teams to bring out our employees’ very giving (and competitive) spirit. The worthwhile cause was RASI’s first annual food drive, held at the Heathrow office the week of November 16 through 20 to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
By the final count on November 20, RASI employees had donated an impressive total of 3,498 items to the food bank, with Team 5 (Financial Aid and Online Groups) having donated the most items as a team (792).
“Borrowing from an old saying, ‘our break room runneth over’ with non-perishable food,” comments David Rietsema, RASI’s HR Generalist. “The level of generosity shown by RASI employees has been amazing and will help feed a great many hungry people in our area.”
“This friendly competition surely paid off in a charitable way,” adds HR Assistant Alexandra Luis. “We want to personally thank everyone for their time, effort, and contributions to the Second Harvest Food Bank. Your generosity and teamwork will directly benefit local families in need.”
Second Harvest Food Bank visited the RASI Heathrow office on November 30 to pick up the donated items. The food will be distributed to families in six Central Florida counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole, and Volusia.
