Colorado Springs college Medical Assisting instructor Cynthia Fauntleroy received a Faculty of the Year “Meritorious Recognition” award from the Colorado Association of Career Colleges and Schools (CACCS) at their annual meeting on October 22, held at the Doubletree Hotel in Greenwood Village, Colorado.
Ms. Fauntleroy has been a Medical Assisting instructor with the College for three years.
She is a Remington College success story in more ways than one, having graduated from Remington College’s evening Medical Assisting program in October 2004.
Ms. Fauntleroy was nominated for the award by Allied Health Department Chairperson Grace Trujillo and Campus President Shirley McCray. She received a plaque and certificate of recognition from the CACCS in recognition of her leadership excellence.
In nominating Ms. Fauntleroy, Allied Health Programs Chair Grace Trujillo said, “Cynthia has endeared herself to all students due to her remarkable, bubbly personality coupled with her strong leadership and fairness in the classroom. She has achieved the ‘Star Instructor’ award multiple times and has been nominated as ‘Instructor of the Quarter’ as well as ‘Employee of the Quarter.’ Thank you Cynthia, for all you do for our students!”
Campus President Shirley McCray added, “Cynthia is a Remington College Medical Assisting graduate herself, so she has been in her students’ shoes and understands the importance of learning critical skills for success. She demonstrates professionalism and exceptional program knowledge to the students.”
The CACCS represents 38 career colleges located throughout the state of Colorado. In determining the winner, the CACCS Selection Committee focused on the nominee’s commitment to students’ career goals; his or her performance as it relates to student retention, recruitment, training, and participation in campus activities; and how the nominee has exhibited a professional leadership role in the classroom, campus, and community.
In addition to earning a Medical Assisting diploma from Remington College, Ms. Fauntleroy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Organizational Management from Colorado Christian University. Remington College congratulates Cynthia Fauntleroy on this well-deserved honor.
