The Remington College School of Cosmetology in Cleveland was recognized as a finalist in the “Modern Salon Excellence in Education” awards event, in the Alumni/Advanced Education Programs category.
This nationwide event recognizing leadership and best practices was sponsored by MODERN SALON Magazine/Media Company and the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS).
The finalists were announced during a luncheon held at the AACS Convention in Orlando, Florida, on October 30, 2010.
Nearly 100 schools submitted 374 entries in eight categories such as marketing, alumni relations, placement, and school culture. Finalists and honorable mentions were selected in four classes, based on school size or number of locations, with one overall honoree from all applicants named for each category.
In providing this recognition to Remington College in Cleveland, the AACS said: “We are proud to have a hand in honoring the important work you and your colleagues do to build the future of the professional beauty industry, and we look forward to your help in growing and refining the Excellence in Education recognition platform.”
Cleveland East Cosmetology Department Chair Lenora Cruz-Price commented, “It is an honor for AACS to recognize our program as a finalist in their awards event, and we’re proud of that recognition, which motivates us to work even harder to keep improving and enhancing every aspect of our program in order to help sustain our success as a leading-edge cosmetology school.”
