Far too many people have been touched by cancer. So a determined team at Remington College’s corporate office in Heathrow, Florida, is fighting back and making a difference.
In preparation for the American Cancer Society’s main fundraising event on Friday, May 6, 2011, at the Central Florida Zoo and Botanical Gardens in Sanford, the Remington College office in Heathrow, Florida, held its first Relay For Life Bake Sale and Office Massage event.
The fundraiser was held on Wednesday, May 4, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with all proceeds benefitting the American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life.
The massages took place in the first floor breakroom on the day of the bake sale, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Massages were 10 minutes in length and were provided for a Relay For Life donation.

Several members who signed up for the May 6 Relay For Life took shifts selling delectable goodies such as brownies, pies, donuts, cakes, muffins, cupcakes, and more.
Call Center Customer Service Representative Sarah Campbell gave the massages. She is a licensed esthetician and is working toward obtaining her massage therapist license.

Co-Relay For Life organizer and Heathrow Call Center Manager John Diaz said, “I am so pleased to see that our bake sale and massage center fundraiser was such a success. We raised a total of $184.60.
It really touched me to see people donating money just for the cause. Some people even shared their stories about how friends and family members have won, lost, or are currently in a battle with cancer. Several people were glad that were doing something so positive.”
