The Dallas Convention Center again played host to the Southwest Dental Conference, which took place on January 12 to 14, 2012, in Dallas, Texas.
Each year, Remington College – Fort Worth Campus sends our Dental Assisting students to this conference, and this year was no exception.
The Southwest Dental Conference showcases trends and developments in the field, hosts live demonstrations of dental work, and features vendors who exhibit new and cutting-edge products to assist professionals in the dental industry.
Attendance at this conference can also help attendees like our students develop professional connections in the field, network, and learn how to get involved in outreach/mission opportunities.
Dental Assisting Instructor Johnathan Mitchell and his class participated in a session entitled, “Products and Promises: Making Informed Recommendations to Your Patients.” The session stressed the importance of being well-informed and well-prepared to help patients make decisions about their care.
Dental Assisting student Isamar Lindero said, “The most fascinating product I saw was the new eBite Plus. This device comes with suction and LED lighting technology to illuminate and isolate the field and provide optimal working conditions for a wide variety of dental procedures.”
Dental Assisting student Ashley Crosby added, “Attending the dental conference was an exciting event to experience. Learning what to expect and what to be prepared for was eye-opening.”
