September 2011 Cosmetology Graduate, Columbia Campus*
From time to time, Today @ Remington College will spotlight “My Story”: perspectives from program graduates, written in their own words, that offer a glimpse into their lives before, during, and after their experience with Remington College.
“Before I enrolled at Remington College, I worked long hours in a turkey plant, and it was hard to see my kids. I also worked at a daycare part-time to help make ends meet.
I was overworked and stressed about bills. I had always wanted to be a stylist, so I went to a different school, but I didn’t feel like I was getting anything out of it. I dropped out and started working again. Seven years later, I decided to go for it again.
I chose Remington because I felt like it could bring me the results I needed: to finish school with everything under my belt. I could choose what I wanted to do, from hair, to nail tech, to make-up artist and more – the sky was the limit.
Remington not only gave me the knowledge to become a stylist, it also gave me the will to push myself to become a better person. I have proven to myself that anything is possible if you have the will to do it.
Now, I’m working at a salon as a stylist and make-up artist. I love my job and feel it’s a great place to start.
I came to Remington College to change my kids and my life. And it actually happened! Coming here was the best thing I ever did. I made my dreams come true. Thank you, Remington, and your wonderful staff!”
