“Let’s Move Together” was the theme of this gathering, deemed “a celebration of year-round movement to help prevent and treat arthritis.”

How did our Remington College team join forces with Massage Envy?
It started when Massage Envy franchise owners Lari Jarvis and Nate McFarland contacted Remington College Career Development Specialist Paolo Delacruz about volunteering at the walk. Mr. Delacruz took it from there, coordinating with our own Massage Therapy instructor and clinic coordinator, Cherie-Lynn Apuya.

Who represented our Remington College – Honolulu Campus?
Students and graduates from Remington College’s Massage Therapy program in attendance at the event included Brienna Huffman, Dimitri Gee, Shareen Lum, and Desiree Gandule, along with Mr. Delacruz, who represented our faculty and staff.

Our volunteers provided chair massages to attendees, including teams who participated in the walk and exhibitors who were there to show their support.

Mr. Delacruz shared his feelings about the importance of volunteering at events like the Arthritis Walk: “These events give students and graduates an opportunity to connect with our community, broaden their experience in massage therapy, and better understand specializations they might wish to pursue in their careers.”

Feedback from the Massage Envy team
Lari Jarvis and Nate McFarland expressed their enthusiasm about the experience with our Honolulu Campus: “The support we’ve received from the staff at Remington College has been truly impressive and greatly appreciated.  The staff cares about creating opportunities for their students, and it shows in everything they do.”

“The Massage Therapy students and graduates from Remington College exceeded our expectations, not only with their talent and professionalism but also with their positive attitudes and passion. We are extremely excited about the opportunity and are honored to work with Remington College – Honolulu Campus students, graduates, and staff for many years to come.”
