Fort Worth Campus Hosts “Bring a Friend to School” Day

Contributed by Gregg Falcon, Campus President

Our Fort Worth Campus held its latest “Bring a Friend or Family Member to School Day” on October 8, 2013. The day offered opportunities for visitors to get to know more about what friends or loved ones are learning in their programs, meet our instructors, and learn about the other programs offered on Campus. The event is held twice each year.

More than 60 visitors attended this latest successful gathering, including spouses, grandparents, aunts, uncles, siblings, and others. Hot dogs, chips, and sodas were provided for everyone in the Student Break Room.

Some Highlights of the Day’s Events
Visitors checked in at the front desk and had their picture taken with the student whom they were visiting. Each visitor was given an itinerary of the day’s activities.

Visitors to the Digital Graphic Art degree program were able to see some of the work created by our talented graphic arts students.

Guests of students in the Criminal Justice program learned some of the basic principles of fingerprinting, and some even volunteered to have their fingerprints taken.

Visitors to the Campus’s newest program, Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning, toured the lab and examined the program equipment and tools.

Guests of the Medical Billing and Coding students were enlightened by a presentation entitled, “Why Doctors Need Us.”

At several Health Sciences stopping stations, guests learned about proper X-ray positioning and basic Pharmacy Technician techniques. Guests could also benefit from having their vital signs checked.

Visitors to the Dental Assisting program attended a session entitled, “Get That Perfect Smile,” during which they received an informative presentation about the basics of dental care.

Visitors were also encouraged to sign up for the Today @ Remington College e-newsletter so they could receive weekly information about the many other activities Remington College is involved in like this one.
