Remington College’s Fort Worth Campus has been approved by the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to participate in the Pearson VUE network of testing centers and proctor the State of Texas GED test.

This is the second Pearson VUE testing center operated at the Fort Worth location. Currently, students in the College’s Computer and Network Administration degree program can take a variety of tests offered by Pearson VUE at the first testing center, including CompTIA A+ Tests 801 and 802.

The second testing center is dedicated to GED testing and houses 12 computer stations at which candidates can take their exam. According to Pearson, approximately 800,000 candidates nationwide take the GED test annually.

Fort Worth Administrative Assistant and GED Proctor Bianca Lozano, who speaks English and Spanish, oversees the GED testing at the Campus. Of the total candidates who participated in the first month of testing, about one third were native speakers of Spanish.

Serving as a bilingual liaison, Ms. Lozano verifies the registration and identity of test takers and assists them in completing forms and in activating their GED tests. Ms. Lozano said, “It is so great to see these individuals so dedicated to accomplishing their goal of earning their GED.”

Facilities Manager Anthony Ordille set up the testing center to meet Pearson VUE specifications. Mr. Ordille said, “I was very impressed with the level of detail that Pearson VUE puts into the plans of each testing site to ensure that the candidates are receiving the same high standards of quality at each center, no matter what location they choose across the country.”

GED testing at Fort Worth began in the first week of December, and since then, more than 150 testers have selected the new testing center to take their GED.
