The Criminal Justice Club at our Dallas Campus hosted its Fourth Annual Easter Egg Hunt on April 19, 2014, at Audubon Park, 342 W. Oates, in Garland, Texas.

As in previous years, students and faculty donated plastic eggs, candy, and various prizes to make the event a success. The event, held each year to benefit local families, featured a new addition this year: the Easter Bunny!

Participating children and their families were able to take pictures and even dance with the Easter Bunny (played fashionably by Criminal Justice Club President Daisy Jones).

Dallas Criminal Justice Instructor Dr. Catina Hightower stated, “We love doing this every year. It’s a great way to give back, and we see how much it impacts the families and everyone involved. It also helps our students see the significance of philanthropy, and they had a wonderful time as well.”

This was the second event hosted by the Dallas Criminal Justice Club this year. Their first event was “Bear Hugs for Valentines,” also an annual event benefitting kids who are patients at the Children’s Medical Center of Dallas. Students donated stuffed bears, Valentine’s Day cards, and candy, all of which were wrapped into gifts bags and delivered to the hospital on Valentine’s Day.

Congratulations to our club members and advisors for showing their enthusiasm and desire to give back to their community by sponsoring these successful events for great causes. Keep up the wonderful work!
