Our Fort Worth Campus recently completed its third annual stuffed toy drive. The American Criminal Justice Association (ACJA) chapter on Campus collected and individually bagged more than 100 toys to donate to the Fort Worth Police Department. The Campus’s night officer, Brian McClenny, graciously handled the transporting of the collected toys to the police department.

Police officers carry these stuffed toys in their cruisers and use them when they respond to situations in which young children are involved, such as domestic violence calls. The police officers can then give the toys to the children as items of comfort to help ease children’s anxiety and fright during difficult situations.

The toys also help to brighten the child’s day and help to foster a positive association with the police. Receiving the stuffed toys reminds children that their local law enforcement officers are there to keep them safe and out of harm’s way.

A big thanks to everyone who participated in this latest toy drive at Fort Worth for their generous contributions to a very worthy cause.
