Congratulations to the Dental Hygiene program at our Nashville Campus, which recently received a Graduate Transition Award from the American Dental Hygiene Association (ADHA). The award recognizes our Dental Hygiene students’ 100 percent transition rate from student membership to full, active membership in the ADHA association upon graduation.

Dental Hygiene Program Administrator Holly Plemons said, “The 100 percent transition recognizes the group who graduated in January 2014. They were the first group to be part of the Remington Student Dental Hygienists’ Association, or RSDHA, which we established on Campus in 2013.”

The Nashville Campus’s award will be mentioned in Access magazine, which is distributed to all members of the ADHA. The award was also recognized at the ADHA’s House of Delegates meeting, held during the 91st Annual Session. This meeting was held from June 18 to 24, 2014, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Ms. Plemons said, “The mention of our award in Access magazine and at the annual session is very exciting and a true honor, as those in attendance at the session are the decision-makers in our profession.” She noted, “The Nashville Campus RSDHA has coordinated many outreach activities this term, and we are very proud of them.”

The RSDHA group met on June 4, 2014, to hold elections for their new officers and to say goodbye to the July graduating class. Currently, the group has 38 registered members, but not all of them are student members in the ADHA association. Ms. Plemons explained, “We encourage students to be part of our chapter here at the school even if they can’t be student members of the association, as there is a fee attached to the ADHA membership.”

Congratulations again to our distinguished Dental Hygiene group in Nashville!
