Lafayette Campus General Education Instructor Marquia Whitehead has incorporated a great idea into her 12-week Career Development course. The course addresses various real-world aspects of the work environment, along with other topics that professionals should know about, such as participating in web-based and other professional networks, developing life plans, and creating vision boards.

As part of Ms. Whitehead’s course, students must dress professionally every Thursday for the entire 12-week module. While participating in this activity, students learn the rules for professional dress, good work ethics, and other topics that are included in the course.

Ms. Whitehead’s goal is to instill in her students the professional characteristics they need to help them thrive as professionals in their field of choice. Our Lafayette Campus is extremely proud to see the students participate in such a practical and worthwhile activity.(1)
