Blood – it may all be red, but it’s definitely not all the same. That’s why Remington College of Nursing is continuing its series of blood drives to recruit more minority blood donors to benefit local residents who need specific types of blood as part of their treatment for sickle cell disease and other blood disorders. Remington College has been awarded the first recipient of America’s Blood Center’s award for “National Partner of the Year.” The award was given after Remington College students, faculty, and staff raised more than 2,650 pints of blood last year….
September is National Sickle Cell Awareness Month and Remington College is holding blood drives on all its campuses in an effort to increase the number of minority blood donors.
Remington College, America’s Blood Centers. and the Sickle Cell Disease Association of America wrapped up the second of 3 Lives blood drives and collected 795 pints of blood. A total of 1479 pints have been collected in 2010!
